Mr.Rexxy

Hey guys!

So over the summer we got a kitty! This cat is ADORABLE, but a poop monster.  Seriously.  We even have to bathe him weekly.  yup. Poop Monster.

Crowdtap sent me a Litter Genie® Cat Litter Disposal System for free in exchange for my honest review! #sponsored

I LOVE it.  Love love love!

Let's get the nitty gritty out of the way. It works. Like REALLY works!

This thing is slender & tall, so it's not in the way! It comes with it's own poop scoop too! & y'all. it contains the STANK.  I honestly think cat poop is the smelliest poop ever, & THIS narrow pail does it's job!

We keep it next to the main litter box in the laundry room, & just scoop when we see anything. Fast, not messy & awesome. Isaac, my 3year old even does it.  Which is awesome & totally not awesome.  lol

We ended up purchasing 2 for gifts! they will thank us later!

**I have a bunch of pictures to load, but it's NOT loading! pictures coming soon!**

Braun® is an innovative company!

Hey Guys!

I had another GREAT opportunity to review a GREAT product that I HAVE to share with y'all! Esp if you have little ones!

Braun® No touch + forehead thermometer
(I've been trying to load pictures for DAYS! grr)

I absolutely recommend this thermometer. We had a forehead to temporal scanner one before this & it was hit or miss with the readings. you'd have to apply pressure as you dragged it across to the temporal, otherwise the reading could be off for readings.

Here we GO!

It comes ready to rock! just push the on button, & then the blue button & point! It will tell you on the screen FWD if you need to move it closer to the "patient". If you're unsure of where the target area is for taking a temp, the handset has a picture on it, showing you the proper area to face the light.

Another great thing is that it's no touch. you can flip the switch on the side of the handset to place it in silent mode, & you can get your little one's temp while theyre resting & they won't be the wiser!

all around, great investment. the temp readings were accurate for us, we tested it with other thermometers. It was really quick & the kids actually wanted us to keep checking their temps for them. The sleep/night mode was brilliant & it would really be a great, welcomed gift to to new parents! can't really mess it up!

Great addition to our Mommy's station

***disclosure I was sent this thermometer for free in-exchange for an honest opinion & review. My review & opinion is my own & was not influenced by BraUn, Influenster, or any 3rd parties.***

Delightful Apple Crisp

Disclaimer:I am a member of the TruFan Community, a rewards community on Crowdtap. This review is based on my experience with Truvia® Brown Sugar Blend that Truvia® sent me. All opinions are my OWN & were not influenced by Crowdtap, Truvia or a 3rd party.

On to the sweet stuff!

I was sent Truvia's new Brown Sugar Blend for free to try out.  I got it a few weeks ago, with hopes of doing a big bake-a-thon the following weekend, BUT my wisdom tooth that I was hoping I could keep (lol) got infected! so I've been recovering for the past week!  By recovering, I mean suffering.  ha!

Today I felt great & the weather was a bit gloomy, like typical fall weather, so I jumped right in! Apple Crisp with a caramel sauce with a dab of greek yogurt to cut the sweetness & add some creaminess.  I usually have a little helper in the kitchen with me at every baking adventure, but today he was having a daddy & me day, using the outdoor sogginess to do boy stuff...you know, look for worms, get muddy, come in & eat all of mama's pie...Grrr! ahaha

Let's get baking!

Here's what you'll need:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
Peel-core-slice your apples

  1. Toss apples with Truvia's baking blend & 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon in a medium bowl to coat; pour into a cast iron skillet

  1. Mix Truvia's brown sugar blend, oats, flour, & 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a separate bowl. Use a  2 forks to mash cold butter into the oats mixture until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs; spread over the apples to the edges of the skillet. Pat the topping gently until even.

  1. Bake in preheated oven until golden brown & sides are bubbling- about 45 mins

While my crumble baked, I made up a QUICK caramel sauce, put it in a mason jar & set it aside till everything was cooled....a bit ;)  I used THIS recipe for the sauce. I used my Truvia brown blend in place of the brown sugar it calls for - 3/4 Cup-.  (I could have ate this whole pot!)

& there you have it!  Truvia did it again! #YAYBROWN!

Triscuit Pie

Say what?!

Yup - Triscuit Pie!

We are pie lovah's, y'all! seriously, who isn't?! Pies are especially sweet in the fall.  On a cool crisp day, a hot cup of tea with a slice of pie while you wait for your little ones to wake up, or get home from school = sweet pie bliss!

Oh, your kiddo is bringing home their bff for a play date & he/she has nut allergies, but you were really wanting a piece of Pecan pie...no worries, add triscuits instead!  It's a party in your mouth! Salty, sweet, crunch & smooth gooey goodness!  trickery at it's finest! The triscuits end up having the same crunch/texture as shredded toasted coconuts!

Crowdtap & Triscuit asked us tappers to come up with a triscuit recipe, & I nailed it. haha.  I could have just searched my cupboards & fridge for things to put on top, but that wouldn't be as much fun as baking something, then having to eat it ALL, because you know, who wants to waste baked goods?!  right?  right.  ha!

Here's what you'll need to try this pie! (You can even add in some pecans with the triscuits, or throw some raisins in the filling! OR if you're real fancy & didn't eat all your chocolate chips like me, you can throw that in!)

Ingredients
    Filling
4 Eggs
1-1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup  melted unsalted butter
3/4 cup corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla
Pie Shell, unbaked

Topping

1-1/2 cups crushed/smashed triscuits (I got reg salted triscuits)
3 t melted unsalted butter
2 t sugar

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Mix the filling ingredients together
  3. Pour into pie shell.
  4. Combine all topping ingredients in a bowl and stir well to coat your triscuits
  5. Sprinkle topping evenly over pie.
  6. Bake in 350 oven for 1 hour, covering with foil after 30 minutes to prevent over browning.
  7. Allow to cool completely before cutting - otherwise you'll have soup!
If you're a chocolate addict like me, grab the last 20 chocolate chips left in the fridge, nuke them for 30 seconds in the microwave & pour on top!

TADA! you totally just made a triscuit pie!

A TRU fan. A TruFan Lemonade Stand!

First off..

Disclaimer: I received free Truvia products through Crowdtap in exchange for an honest review & to host a lemonade stand!. The opinions expressed in this blog are solely my own & have not been influenced by Crowdtap or any third party

What's Crowdtap? (from their page)
Crowdtap is the place to use your creativity to win gift cards and score free products from big-name brands. Brands will challenge you to discuss and showcase how you use everyday items—through photos, videos, and writing—and then reward the best submissions

Oh, have I mentioned yet that I love Crowdtap? no?! Well, it's true! I do =)

Alrighty, on to my TRUFAN LEMONADE STAND! - I don't know why, but I SING it every time I say it...

So Crowdtap sent me a box full of Truvia goodness! It was like Christmas morning opening up that bad boy up! It supplied everything I would need to host a successful lemonade stand! Only thing I had to do was build the stand!

  • 1 Truvia® Spoonable for lemonade
  • 1 Truvia® Baking Blend for a sweet dessert treat
  • 4 Truvia® Sunglasses
  • 10 Truvia® Lemonade cups
  • 1 $10 Giftly Gift Card
  • 1 Party insert & recipe card

We had to do a store run before we got our baking on! Driving in style, personalized license plate. ha!

I had my little helper with me the entire time! For only being 3yrs old, he's a pro at cracking eggs! (He practices when I'm not looking...) We made some yummy lemon cupcakes with a lime frosting! Seriously, Truvia is delicious!

We also had to build our lemonade stand.  I wanted something fun, whimsical & different than what I thought anyone else would be doing!  I love thinking outside of the box.  So we made a plan, and used all scrap wood we had from other DIY projects & I SERIOUSLY looooove it! It was exactly what I envisioned, & trust me, it was an eye catcher! Cars were driving by super slow to get a good look, too! I put a lot of thought & love into this beauty!

So once we had our plan of attack, we had to make sure we had the Duds to be styling in! My husband & I had #TruFanStand on our shirts, & the little guy had that AND Crowdtapper in training on the back of his! seriously, this was genius! It was conversation starter! (This kid has the BEST cheese face! totally not bias ;))

& we were open for business! The cost? a $mile!

As you can see, in the bucket of lemons, I added a few fun photo props! in this last picture, you can see my SMART boy, sitting on his chair in the shade, stuffing his face with his cupcake lol!

In TRU Crowdtap fashion, some FUN FACTS about Truvia!

I'm a little sad that it's "over" BUT we will be doing it again! We all had a great time, the kids thought we were the coolest parents (Cause we are, YO!) & of course because it's building some #SweetSummer memories.

My take on Truvia? LOVE it. We made the #SweetSwitch after I found out that I had diabetes & I will never go back to any other sweetner! This doesn't have the weird aftertaste, nor is it overly sweet!  Super excited that with Christmas around the corner (Did I just say the C word in August!?) I won't be "left out" or dealing with sugar spikes during the holidays & my husband can enjoy the 75% fewer calories!

#TruFanStand Lemonade Stand is now "over" But we're TRU Fans - We'll be sharing the #SweetSummer loving year long!

Thanks Crowdtap & Truvia!

LOTS of DIY!

Hello everyone!  long time no post, eh?

Well, nothing new in the baby making world.  We will be starting some treatments (clomid) again this fall!  Oh, & I got super sick over Christmas & ended up in the hospital.  Turns out, I have diabetes. My sugars were in the 600's & I went into diabetic ketosis. - more on that another time...

Back to my DIY!~  obsessed.  Seriously!  I'll be the 1st to admit that it's either hit or miss.  When I get it right, it's incredible, & when it goes terribly wrong, I almost want to keep it because it's so crazy laughable!

Just this year I've repurposed an ugly craigslist dresser in to an entertainment stand, made my own headboard, chalkboards, wall art, ect....& just over the past few days, I've made a candy cart for a lemonade stand!  I also have about a million other projects started & not finished. I can't help myself!

Isaac is getting BIG.  Seriously, kid, slow down! He's asking me everyday to go to school.  He talks about school, tells me he needs to go...I think it's time for preschool =(
